Enjoy this new blog! One item i noticed, is that the Local Harvest doesn’t link to a correct site. Perhaps it was meant to be localharvest.org? Thanks!

You’re right. Thanks for the heads up and for reading!

This is a nice looking site.

i LOVE THE IDEA OF A MORE HEALTHY RECIPE SITE – HOWEVER, NUTITIONAL VALUES LISTED WOULD BE OF GREAT HELP FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TO LIMIT FAT AND/OR CALORIES/SODIUM, ETC. tHANKS

I’d like to find out more about the people who are behind this great blog. Can you tell us about yourselves?

Lynn on January 7, 2009 at 2:40 pm

Hey Lynn, you can learn more about Dana and Toby, our fabulous experts, on this bio page. Also, stay tuned — we’re going to be sharing more fun facts about us in the coming weeks.

Looking forward to new ideas!

Joyce, you can learn more about the guidelines we follow for choosing recipes here. We have criteria for all meal parts (mains, sides, salads, dessert, etc).

Looks interesting, thanks

I agree with Joyce. When deciding to try a new recipe, I always look for the nutritional information, and am much less likely to try one that doesn’t include that info.

Dana, I love your recipes and the website is so easy to use! Thank you. Can you include a segment that focuses on recipes with soy milk/soy products as substitutes for cheese and milk? I have a friend who is a new mom and her little blessing is lactose intolerant and she is nursing…help?

kate cominsky on January 8, 2009 at 12:11 pm

Hi Kate! You can just swap out milk or cheese for the soy versions in most recipes (I bake with soy milk all the time). Stay tuned for more articles and recipes that include soy products in the coming weeks.

Hi Kate! Ahhh…nursing- one of my favorite topics (I nursed all 3 of my kids). Remember there is also almond and rice milk available. As Dana mentioned, stay tuned for more on milk alternatives.

Toby Amidor on January 8, 2009 at 2:44 pm

I use rice milk all the time and love it.

On Fruit Juice: Good or Bad?, CallFritz.com said:

If that is the case, it should say something about the fruit juice it's self. They are not real fruit. How can something so natural be so bad for you? Think about that. I would try a Yoli Health Drink to be on the safe side.
