Reseach has it that all of Jimmy Carters relatives died of pancreatic cancer! Why was this when they had grown up on their family "peanut farm"!? It's not the oil. As a Certified Nutritionist I can tell you it's the MOLD. Sadly, no one investigates food like I do!! www.lifeproducts.ca If you are not a pH balanced person peanuts will make you sick even kill you. Why do schoolsl and hospitals (in Canada) BAN peanuts and peanut butter?? Anything heated and crammed in a jar or can should be avoided. To be safe try making your own butters-keep the old jar to fool younger inexperienced kids, ha, ha. Please realize that healthier alternatives do exist and a grain of real mineral sea salt about the whole deal is very satisfying! Salt is not tabu if the right kind. Mine has 30 minerals naturally, does yours? Don't go for cheap, go for quality people!! No counting calories either people. Don't sacrifice good fats for bad fats jut because of the number!! Get the facts. The real butter is REAL BUTTER, but that's another topic. Don't eat plastic!!

Have you tried the natural peanut butters? The artificial Skippy, Peter Pan, Jiff, etc, types do get hard in the 'fridge. However, the natural ones, if stirred up before you put them in the 'fridge (especially if you store them upside ddown first so that the oil gets all the way to the bottom of the jar) stay smooth and creamy even cold.

We got into the habit of buying Arrowhead Mills (unsalted) a long time ago. We don't have Trader Joe's here. I also have almond butter in the fridge. If we are in Central Maket, I buy freshly made.

I really love Almond Butter...more than peanut butter...I have a farmers market nearby, Adams Fairacre Farms, and they press there own almond butter & peanut butter...it is always freshly made, not jarred, sitting on a shelf, and there are no other ingredients added.....Delicious with an apple..I even add a tablespoon to my irish oatmeal in the am along with cinnamon... a great antitoxin, and some blueberries. On alternate mornings, I add ground flaxseed. Omega 3's are an added plus in almonds!

I'm surprised to see that no-one has mentioned Laura Scudder's Natural peanut butter. I LOVE their crunchy one! Those of you that buy their peanut butter off the store shelves should compare theirs to Laura Scudder's. LS peanut butter only has 1 gr. sugar per 2 Tbl. serving -- almost all the other brands are over 3 gr's. Like some of you mentioned, the natural peanut butter separates -- so I plan to try someone's suggestion to turn it upside down to mix it up. Like someone else mentioned, I always keep my peanut butter in the refrigerator and it never separates again!

Peanut butter & Co also makes White Chocolate Peanut Butter. I love this stuff on biscuits or bagels. I don't have anything close so I end up using jif or Peter Pan peanut butter. Next time I am in a bigger town with a Publix I will look for their peanut butter.
