I have not tried any of the Stevia products yet, but I am going to try them soon. I agree with the good Dr. Thomas Taylor about what happens after the FDA gets a hold of any product it is not the same anymore and definitly not "NATURAL" anymore. I was always told if you can't pronounce it don't eat it or if it is man made don't eat it. Just my opinion. Dan

I've been using stevia as a sugar replacement for almost 5 years now and can not laud it enough. Refined white sugar is a highly addictive substance that serves no nutritional purpose whatsoever. In fact it is rated as the most abused drug in the world. Natural, plant derived Stevia is definitely a much healthier and safer alternative than proven neurotoxins like aspertame.

It actually lowers blood sugar for those who have diabetes, and stabilizes for those who do not have any health issues.

But be forewarned, new stevia products, such as Truvia and Purevia, contain unhealthy additives that are NOT natural. Many of the stevia products have been altered so the companies could patent them.

look here for more info, and info about splenda and aspartame -

Also I have tried truvia and all of the rest that have FDA approval brands and they are all altered by "man" I have learned when man get s involved with our food to make us better, sooner or later we get sicker and sicker. It is always always alway about the money. If stevia got approoved then there would be less diabetes, less cancer, less fngal infections less sickness and no place to sell the meds to treat the conditions that sugar causes.
Do the research and your jaw will drop. and your health will inprove.
Mine did

To the person who said that 15% of the people who tried stevia said it tastes biiter. That is the 15% of the public who smoke. I am not kidding. I have introduced this remarkable herb t o hundreds of people and of the ones who don't like it my first questions is "do you smoke?" God put it here for us long before the chem labs came around.

I have used Stevia from the health food store (which come in small packets for at least 10 years. I am a diabetic and have had open heart surgery and I find it and tasty to use. My Father was a diabetic and I grew up on saccharin which I find is ok also. I love splenda to bake with. I am 62 years young and I feel why complain about something when you have to change your lifestyle. I don't like spinach, but if I had to eat it I would, this is not having to eat it, but having choices.

Actually I use Sun Crystals for a few weeks now. It has only 5 calories. I like & enjoy it very much to a packet of it in my coffee, lemon, & yellow ginger drinks which sufftces enough sweetness. I didn't experience any after-taste at all. For your information you can find it at Walmart

I've used Stevia for 2 years. I discovered immediately that you don't use an entire packet for sweetening...it's too strong and can taste bitter that way. I can generally use one packet three times, which makes it quite economical. I sprinkle it on fruit, in my tea, on my own recipe for sugar- free french toast and anything I want sweetened. It's true it doesn't taste like sugar, but as with anything, you get used to its own sweet flavor.
My brother is a vegetarian and he's the one who recommended Stevia to me. He explained that it's been used for centuries in other countries and that the US has managed to keep it off the shelves because of the strong cane sugar lobbyists in Washington. For years you could only buy it in health food stores or in some health food sections in select supermarkets. As the "green market" improved and the population's demand for healthier alternatives grew, Stevia and Xylitol (also a natural sweetener) were brought out of hiding.
I don't use it excessively and I have learned to enjoy its own taste. I feel so much better since I have given up refined cane sugar and high glycemic starches. I recently read that staph and cancers thrive on sugar, so I'm depriving them of what they need.
