I've lost 65 pounds this year, and while I haven't kept the weight off for 5 years (yet!!!), having all the right things at home definitely makes a huge difference. When I go shopping with my husband and he wants to get something not very nutritious or very high in fat, I convince him it's not something we need in our home. For example, rather than keeping a gallon tub of ice cream in our freezer (where I'll be tempted to eat massive quantities of it) , when we have a craving, we'll go out for frozen yogurt. I'll get the child's size, which is only 100 calories, and I only have it once or twice a week. 5 years, here I come!
